How do you see yourself?

I was out yesterday on the road with work and decided to stop at a local McDonalds to use the restroom. You can imagine my surprise when I opened the restroom door and was greeted with all of these mirrors, even one over the toilet and on the back of the restroom stall door. I had never seen such a thing! Can you imagine knowing what you look like when you use the toilet? I do now!

It made me realize how there are so many views of myself that I do not know. What do my kids see when I come home from work? What if I had a mirror so that I could see my expression when I come home and immediately get onto them for the mess they have made while I was gone? I don't think I would like what I see. I have been challenged to think about that concept this week. How do others see me when I am not looking at myself?

James 1:22-24 (New International Version)

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
