Just Have Faith

Sometimes I am tired of being helpless. I have come to realize that as a Christian, that is the place God usually wants us...Needing Him only. It is so hard, it can be so discouraging, it can feel so out of control. I know that my best isn't always my plan and that God's best for me isn't usually my plan. I know all of the right things to think and say, but taking them to heart is hard. This week has been one of those weeks that I want to just throw my hands up in the air and scream, "I Give Up!" I know that is just my weakness. I know things will get better, and I know I just have to have Faith.

I Samuel 12:24
" But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you."

The Ice Cream Truck

When we first moved into our new home, there was one annoying occurance that would happen at about 10 am and again in the afternoon every day....The Ice Cream truck! Because our subdivision is still under construction, there are hundreds of workers in our area who are great business for the ice cream truck. She sells drinks and other foods as well, so is a great stop for lunch. What is annyoning isn't the fact that she serves food, but that annoying song that plays over and over and over. It is only 2 or 3 bars of a song and is in MIDI form so sounds like an old cell phone ring tone. I can't place the song and have wondered time and time again how she can stand driving the truck ALL DAY. Is she deaf? Is she already crazy? Does she wear earphones? Then yesterday I realized something, I don't hear the truck anymore. I am so used to it that I don't notice when it goes by. Now occasionally I do hear it, but it is rare. It made me think of sin. When involved in habitual sin, the warning signs are there, the Holy Spirit yells and shouts. If ignored, he gets a little quieter each time until there is no voice. The Holy Spirit is always shouting, it is us that tunes him out. Just like the Ice Cream truck, grating at first and then silence. It is my prayer that I listen for Him each day no matter what the circumstances. He wants to guide and be there with the refreshment that we need. Look for him and listen when he comes around the corner.

Ephesians 4:30
" And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption."

Happy Fathers Day!

The kids were very excited to show Brent their present that they had made for him. Minus Dakota, the kids had painted a special box for Brent to store his Guitar Music in. I loved seeing their creativity. He also received a Jeff Gordon Racing Jacket from the boys. It was a special day for Brent because it was his first Father's Day with his own little daughter. Dakota was very excited to help him open his cards and presents.

II Samuel 7:27-29
"27 "O LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you have revealed this to your servant, saying, 'I will build a house for you.' So your servant has found courage to offer you this prayer. 28 O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. 29 Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever."
